Cut Shot
A sharp-angle attack that lands in the front corner, just inside the antenna, instead of traveling the long way across the court. For a right-handed hitter on the left, you contact the left side of the ball and turn your wrist so the ball cuts across. It is a useful shot when the blocker has slid over to take away the line and left that short corner open.

The right-side hitter shows a cross-court swing, then cuts the ball inside the block. It lands in the front corner before the libero, who is standing deep, can get there.
