Dink
A soft fingertip shot over, around, or off the top of the block. It is the same family as a tip. You use it when the blockers jump early and the defenders are standing deep, so the open floor is the short space behind the block. Beach announcers say dink a lot. Indoor coaches usually just say tip.

The middle hitter takes a full approach and the blockers jump with her. She opens her hand at the last second and drops the ball just behind the block, where nobody is standing.
